Opening Question
Have you ever felt like you were just doing something ordinary, behind-the-scenes work, and then suddenly, you’re confronted with something you didn’t see coming? It looks like a set-back or a detour to your God-given vision, yet that very interruption can becomes the thing God uses to pivot your whole story?
David’s Cheese Run – 1 Samuel 17:17–18
Something that felt like a setback or a detour to your God-given vision, yet that very interruption became the thing God used to pivot your whole story? That’s exactly what happened to David. 1 Samuel 17:17–18 “Now Jesse said to his son David, ‘Take this ephah of roasted grain and these ten loaves of bread for your brothers… Also take these ten cheeses to the commander of their unit. See how your brothers are and bring back some assurance from them.’”
David wasn’t sent to fight but to serve. His father’s instructions looked simple, but God had different plans. What looked like a lunch run became a divine setup.
Obedience in the Ordinary
David worshipped God through obedience. The cheese and bread weren’t just food—they were leverage. Obedience opened the door to his public assignment.
Prepared in Private
David was trained by defending sheep, not in a war room. The battles with lions and bears prepared him for a Goliath no one saw coming.
God’s Strategy
David didn’t need Saul’s armor. He had five smooth stones and a God-breathed strategy. Obedience positions you for moments others miss.
Symbolism of the Cheese
Cheese symbolized wisdom, strategy, and honor. Jesse honored the commander—God honored the obedience.
What Is Your ‘Cheese Run’?
It might feel small—your job, serving family, walking through silence—but God is positioning you through it all.
Opposition Is Not Denial
David faced mocking brothers, a jealous king, and a giant enemy. But none of it stopped the promise. Don’t be moved by resistance.
Right Place, Right Time
Visibility often comes when you least expect it. Stay faithful, stay ready, and walk in quiet obedience.
God Speaks in the Silence
Just because you don’t hear Him doesn’t mean He’s not speaking. Silence is often the sacred space where God is forging your faith and deepening your trust. Delay is not denial—it’s divine setup.

In the silence, you’re being prepared, strengthened, and made ready to stand in victory. God’s stillness is often the prelude to His strongest move.

Job 33:14–15 (AMP):
“For God speaks once, and even twice, yet no one notices it [including you, Job]. In a dream, a vision of the night [one may hear God’s voice], when deep sleep falls on men while slumbering upon the bed.”
Forged in the Fire to Stand
Being forged in the fire doesn’t make headlines, but it makes warriors. Hidden seasons prepare visible strength. God uses the quiet and the waiting to build legs of endurance and resolve that do not buckle when the moment comes.
‘Your next big thing is being forged right now, and your winning though God in this place is crucial to set-up your victory tomorrow.

Ephesians 6:13–14 (AMP):
“Therefore put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. So stand firm and hold your ground…”

Final Encouragement
Galatians 6:9 – “Let us not grow weary in doing good... for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Hebrews 10:35–36 “So do not throw away your confidence; it holds a great reward. You need to persevere, so that after you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.”

Your obedience today is setting you up for a God-ordained victory.
